The Real Balance

Writer: Sthitapragya DiariesSthitapragya Diaries

What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear the word 'Balance'? Is it work-life balance or a balanced lifestyle or a balanced diet or balanced sugar levels?

Well, the real balance is none of the above. Yes, you have read it absolutely correct. The real balance is not just to have balance in one or all of your life areas or to eat balanced food to have all nutrients in a balanced proportion.

The real balance has to be intelligently articulated in one's life.

How often does your mood change? Until few minutes ago, you might be in the best mood and suddenly you start feeling low and demotivated. Sometimes we feel like climbing mountains and suddenly we don't even want to get up and walk. This clearly reveals that we need to learn to balance ourselves, our mind and our motivational levels. It's extremely tough, but it is the balance we really require in our life. We should all challenge ourselves to acquire this real balance to transform and enhance our life.

Sthitapragya Diaries requests all its readers to practise a simple exercise of monitoring one's motivation levels. Keep a journal and for the next 7 days, jot down your daily motivation levels. Use 2 parameters, that is, high and low, to note down your motivation levels during the day. At the end of each day, note down the reasons that made your motivation high or low.

After 7 days, consider all the reasons that contributed to your reduced motivation levels. Start striking them off with a pen or pencil so that your mind records this and constantly keeps you reminded of these reasons that should be excluded from your life.

Similarly, consider all the reasons that increased your motivation levels. Make a list of these reasons and ensure that you meditate on these reasons every morning before you begin your day. Remind yourself that you have to articulate the real balance in your life no matter what happens. Continue this exercise so that you can trash all the reasons that lead to you scoring low on your motivation balance and spend more time on the reasons that lead you to scoring high. Being aware of these will allow you to achieve the perfect ideal balance in your life.

Don't forget to let us know whether you tried this exercise and provide the readers with your key reasons leading to increasing and reducing your motivation levels so that this can help others as well.

So, what is the real balance? When you start focusing more on the reasons that lead to gaining high motivation and completely ignore the reasons that lead to reducing your motivation levels, you will achieve the most crucial and the real balance in your life.

Why is this motivational balance needed? This is needed so that one can proactively:

  • Stop wasting precious time.

  • Enhance efforts on achieving goals and performing duties carefully.

  • Provide excellent fuel to develop the mind.

  • Enhance healthy relationships.

  • Boost self-confidence.
