TIP for every day of the New Year

Updated: Dec 15

As the world is preparing to bid goodbye to another calendar year and enter a new year, hoping for it to be prosperous and better for mankind in general, people with a proactive mindset would have started setting smart goals or resolutions for the new year.

In these days of transformation, technological advancement and artificial intelligence taking its prestigious place in each and every field, it has become more necessary to live every day in a more refined mode, not only to achieve the objectives or goals set for the new year but also to live each day of the new year with more fulfillment. Let’s consider how this can be achieved and what is the TIP which can help us transform every day of our incredibly precious human life:

TIP is an abbreviation for:

  • T = Start Today

  • I = Smartly Invest

  • P = Savor Peace

Start Today

Seize the day. Strive to live in the present and perform all your roles and responsibilities today without thinking about past or future.

Whatever happened, happened. The only thing from the past that can be utilized is lessons learnt. Apart from this, thinking and talking about past is nothing else than simply wasting time. Tomorrow is also not guaranteed. You have no control over tomorrow. You plan to go somewhere tomorrow, and circumstances may not permit. Therefore, the only option is to live in today. So, plan for today. Don’t plan for the future. You can take actions today for future, but you have no control on the future.

Therefore, start taking steps towards your goals today. Today is your day, not yesterday or tomorrow. If you don’t take actions for each of your goals today, it is quite possible that you may slowly forget or lose interest to achieve these goals tomorrow, or it simply means that you are not serious about achieving them. It is quite shameful if you cannot dedicate at least few minutes for working towards your goals out of the 24 hours of your day. Don’t wait for any occasion or day or month or even the new year to start something. Simply start today and then consistently repeat.

Smartly Invest

All of us are so cautious about investing our money. We will never invest in anything non-interesting or that may give us low return. But we accept investing our time in unproductive matters, talks and tasks.

Everyone should be highly cautious about where they are investing their non-returning time. We watch other people’s work and help them grow even when we don’t need their products or services. How much time of your day is spent in complaining, talking about others behavior, or watching reels or videos that does not give us any benefit? Anything that you do not require, or which is not at all productive for you or does not help you to achieve your goals, is not worth spending time on. Keep a watch on your time and energy vampires. They are the people and activities you should fear spending time with.

Therefore, keep an eye on where you are investing your time on a daily basis. Smartly invest not just your money, but more importantly your time. On a daily basis the wasted time may only be for few minutes or hours, but on a yearly basis, it will become a huge number which you will not receive back.

Savor Peace

Do you savor quiet time or peace time in a day? Well, if you have no time to sit peacefully and calm yourself while you are awake, you are at a risk and may not be able to perform at your best.

You cannot fill a glass that is already filled with something. You can only fill it if it is empty. Similarly, you cannot grow or fill yourself with positivity, God’s words and everything else that will fuel you to give your best if you are always running with an unpalatable fuel which makes you more stressful, unhappy, demotivated and lowers your efforts to grow and prosper.

The constant need to scroll on electronic devices has led us very far from not only our family but also from the world on a larger scale that could otherwise provide us peace and tranquility. How many of us can savor food or nature without being distracted or without looking at the devices? No matter how much advanced we become, the endeavor to have a sustainable future can only be achieved if the world strives to constantly uphold the necessity to savor peace for countries, governments and its people.

Simple habit of spending 15 minutes alone in peace upon waking up every day and before sleeping will plant the seed for savoring peace in our lives.
